Carpet Care
Hot water extraction for the deep clean and low moisture encapsulation between visits, with furniture moved and put back by the crew.
Chapter 01
Why a clean looking carpet is not a clean carpet
With every step through a building, allergens and bacteria are pushed deeper into the carpet. Vacuuming gives the appearance of a clean floor, but it never removes the odors and build up trapped in the fibers. A lobby or corridor can look fine on a Monday and still carry what was ground in over months.
The cost shows up in two places. In a clinic, a classroom or an office, trapped soil and allergens are part of the environment that staff and visitors share. And a carpet that is only vacuumed wears out sooner, which means replacing it earlier than necessary. Regularly scheduled carpet cleaning is the only way to be sure the carpet is actually clean.

Extraction for the deep clean, encapsulation in between
OctoClean offers two methods and uses them together. Hot water extraction is the deep clean: a wand scrubs water and cleaner into the carpet, then lifts the soil trapped inside. Interim maintenance sits between extractions: a low moisture encapsulation process that holds cleanliness in place and dries faster.
The carpet division handles anything from a small spill to thousands of square feet. Technicians are trained in house, so the training, the equipment and the people doing the work all come from the same place. When furniture is in the way, the team moves it and puts it back when the cleaning is finished, so nobody has to clear a room the afternoon before.
Your franchise owner and the support team can design a carpet care program around the building, matching the mix of extraction and interim visits to how the carpet is used. A program built for the carpet is how a facility gets the longest life out of it.
Chapter 03
Dry time, walking on it, and when the next visit is due
Dry time depends on humidity, temperature and airflow in the room, and a carpet can take anywhere from 8 to 24 hours to dry completely. You can walk on the carpet immediately after cleaning, though it is best to avoid the damp areas while they dry.
The right schedule starts with what the carpet is telling you. Condition, fiber type and color all play a part, and the cue to book a professional cleaning is when traffic areas begin to show soiling. For some facilities that means extraction every six months, for others once a year or longer, with interim maintenance in between the deep cleans.
Watch the entries and the main walking routes first, since that is where soiling appears first. If the building also has lobby seating or office chairs, book upholstery care on the same day as carpet care, because the tools and methods are the same.
OctoClean carpet technicians are trained in house, and franchise owners carry general liability, workers' compensation and a $25,000 janitorial bond.
Clinics, classrooms and offices
Carpet care in the buildings that stay open
Carpet care is part of the specialty floor work OctoClean does for Loma Linda University Health, and it sits alongside daily janitorial service at Loma Linda Academy. If your building is a clinic or a campus, start with the healthcare page or the education page.
